We are pleased to partner with the Oklahoma City Thunder to further our mission within our youth basketball league, called the YMCA Thunder Basketball League. We have three leagues: Developmental, Spirit and Champions.
Our Developmental League has an emphasis on the development and understanding of the game of basketball. This league is designed for kids ages 3-16. Officials will be more lenient and assist in teaching the rules during the game. The winter season consists of 8 games. For ages 3 & up, our youth basketball league is gender specific. The summer season consists of 6 games, and there are no YMCA-sanctioned practices. Age groups may be combined, depending on registration numbers.
Our Spirit League has been developed for players and teams with advanced skills to play against competitors on the same level. This league will be closely officiated by certified referees. The winter season consists of 8 games. The summer season consists of 6 games, and there are no YMCA-sanctioned practices. There will also be an end-of-season tournament. The Spirit League is open for children ages 8-12. This league is gender specific. Age groups may be combined, depending on registration numbers.
Our Champions League is designed for children and adults with impairments or disabilities. Guided by dedicated coaches, athletes come together to experience the joy of basketball, fostering friendships and building confidence. There are two divisions within the Champions League – 17 and under and 18 and up.

Membership must remain active the entire season to receive the discount. Any membership cancelled prior to the end of season will need to pay the full league fee to remain in program.
Practice and Games
- There will be a single practice provided to all teams prior to start of season.
- Game schedules will be posted Friday, May 16.
- Games begin the week of June 9.
- Games may be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays
- There are no games July 2-6.
- There may be times when game sites are unavailable due to school calendars. Your local YMCA sports department will communicate these dates.
Uniforms
Each participant is required to wear the blue and gray Thunder Basketball jersey. These can be purchased online at or at your local YMCA. All sales are final for online and in-branch purchases. There are no returns or refunds on jerseys.
Program Refunds
Refund Eligibility
If you wish to request a refund before the regular registration period concludes, you may be eligible for a refund, subject to a processing fee. For household members, the processing fee is $5. For youth & non-members, the fee is $25.
Processing Fee Waiver
The processing fee will be waived if you opt to receive a credit to your Y account instead of a refund via credit card or check.
Refund Limitations
No refunds or credits will be provided after the commencement of the first session, practice, or game.
Coach, Practice, and Player Requests
Refunds will not be granted solely based on the inability of the YMCA to accommodate coach, practice, or player requests made during the registration process.
Attendance and Reservations
Please note not attending the program does not entitle a participant to a credit or refund. Enrolling in the program reserves space, time, and staffing resources, regardless of actual attendance.
Special Circumstances
In exceptional situations where participation becomes impossible, participants may request consideration for a credit or refund. Such requests should be submitted in writing via email to your local YMCA sports department.
Program Cancellation
In the event the YMCA cancels a program, all fees paid will be refunded in full.
