Late registration for summer sports will begin on May 6 through May 12. There will be an additional charge for registration during this time.
From James Naismith's invention of basketball at the Y in 1891 to today, the Y has a rich tradition in sports played around the globe. We nurture the potential of youth through sports programming by strengthening character, engaging families and building lasting relationships. We are pleased to partner with the Oklahoma City Thunder to further our mission within our youth basketball league, now called the YMCA Thunder Basketball League.
Our Developmental League for youth basketball will have an emphasis on the development and understanding of the game of basketball. Youth basketball officials will be more lenient and assist in helping the child learn the rules as they play basketball games. The winter season consists of 8 games and summer season consists of 6 games. The Developmental League is open for children ages 3-16. For ages 5 & up, our youth basketball league is gender specific. Age groups and gender may be combined, depending on registration.
Registration Dates and Pricing
Early Registration pricing will end on May 5,2024. Early Registration Pricing is $10 for Household Members, $75 for Individual/Youth Members, and $100 for Non-Members. Final registration beginning May 6, 2024, will have an additional $20 fee added on and will be taken as space allows. Membership must remain active the entire season to receive the discount. Any membership cancelled prior to the end of season will need to pay the full league fee to remain in program.

Coaches Meeting:
• The coaches’ meeting will be held the week of May 13. Your local sports director will be in touch with further information for the coaches meeting.
• If you have not heard from your coach by May 20 at 12pm, please reach out to your local sports director.
Practices and Games:
• No YMCA provided practice sites.
• Games will begin the weekend of June 10. Games will be on weeknights and Saturdays.
- Travel may be necessary based on league size at your local YMCA.
- Games played at the Stillwater YMCA have a later season start date.
• The season is a 6-game regular season for all ages. We will guarantee at least one makeup game due to weather cancellations but will do our very best to ensure each team has any missed games due to weather made up.
Uniforms:
• Each participant is required to wear the Blue and Grey YMCA Thunder Basketball Jersey. These can be purchased online at https://ymcathunderbasketballleague.com/ or at your local YMCA. All sales are final for online and in-branch purchases. There are no returns or refunds on jerseys.
PROGRAM REFUNDS
Refund Eligibility
If you wish to request a refund before the regular registration period concludes, you may be eligible for a refund, subject to a processing fee. For household members, the processing fee is $5. For youth & non-members, the fee is $25.
Processing Fee Waiver
The processing fee will be waived if you opt to receive a credit to your Y account instead of a refund via credit card or check.
Refund Limitations
No refunds or credits will be provided after the commencement of the first session, practice, or game.
Coach, Practice, and Player Requests
Refunds will not be granted solely based on the inability of the YMCA to accommodate coach, practice, or player requests made during the registration process.
Attendance and Reservations
Please note not attending the program does not entitle a participant to a credit or refund. Enrolling in the program reserves space, time, and staffing resources, regardless of actual attendance.
Special Circumstances
In exceptional situations where participation becomes impossible, participants may request consideration for a credit or refund. Such requests should be submitted in writing via email to your local YMCA sports department.
Program Cancellation
In the event the YMCA cancels a program, all fees paid will be refunded in full.
